Can you tell who is who?  Nagatu?, Kris, Mr. Beavers, Devoe???

Did you Know???

Throughout the centuries, men's beards were seen as symbols of intelligence and strength and were sometimes cared for quite meticulously.

In Elizabethan times, for example, they were often dyed various hues and trimmed into unusual shapes.

Just a thought about judging the "CUT OF THE WEEK"

This is an idea .....  I can post all of the cuts for the week on Friday morning, and you can judge from the pictures on the site and determine which is the best.  How does that sound with everybody????

How can we???????

There has to be a way for us to pick the cut of the week.   I've tried to print them out, and it's not working......  I'm open to suggestions.. can you help?  Bring on the ideas of how after I post the pictures, at the end of the week, we can vote on them and choose a winner.  Let's hear it.

It's almost spring, a time for planning

These are some of the cuts seen here at Pro Way Rockbridge.

Spring is around the corner and we have high school graduation coming up.  Many students from the area's high schools will be coming to visit us duing the next few weeks.  We will be able to show them exactly what we do here; learning the basics of cutting and styling, color, facials, and all the things that go with a Master Barber License.  Today was a great day, and we must have had over 50 people in for cuts.  We're getting lots of hands on training for the industry.  Keep up the good work.

Tuesday cutters are getting busy

It's 3:45 and all the seats are filled.  Look whose busy this afternoon:

Mohawks are the thing for TODAY

Making the cut straight an even

Little guys are a challenge to make sit up straight and be still, but it's working

Freshmen shampoo hair

The freshmen are taking a break from their classrooms and learnng to shampoo hair.  As Mr. Haney says " you wash cars and dogs, you shampoo hair".

Mr. Haney demonstrates cutting guidelines

Mr. Haney lead a demonstration this morning about cutting guidelines.  He showed how to cut and set up guidelines in a Mohican format and also ear to ear for a balanced style.  His infomation was really great, but there were dozens of tips about how to increase your business as a barber and help your client's look their best.  He recommends a regular trim/color treatment to keep your client engaged in the program you have them on,  He was quick to point out that once a person trusts their barber stylist, you have them for life and they will travel miles to come to you.

Pictures coming...thru my phone - which is taking along time????

Upcoming birthdays.....

Ms. Davis has a birthday coming up this weekend too, it's on Sunday.  Make sure to remember her on Tuesday when she is here next week.

Georgia State Barbers Board

As of January 1, 2012, in accordance with our current retention schedule, Board staff will maintain school hours, transcripts, and exam scores for five years before destruction. Requests for records more than five years old cannot be processed.

What that means to you.....if you have hours and they are about to expire before you complete your training, you will loose them.

It's Monday and were talking Hair Thickeners

Today, we had a visitor to speak to us about Hair Thickeners.  Eric Reid was kind enough to come by and introduce us to a new product for our clients who have thinning hair and bald spots created by Dr. William Yates.  As you know, the better your client looks, the more he/she is likely to come back to you if you make him look  and feel good about themselves.  Balding spots can mess us a really great style and cut because the hair is not growing evenly.  Now we have another option at helping our clients look their best.  This product, Dr. Yates Instant Hair Thickener, is made from natural fibers, which will stay in and works on all hair types.  It must be washed out, but won't sweat off.  Great for the active client.

Take a look at one of the demonstrations:
